Nicola is a highly qualified vocal educator and singer-performer with specialisms in language, song, text interpretation and performance. As well as a vocalist and author, she has a medical background & training in anatomy. In the past, she has worked in both Voice Clinic and ENT. She has authored three books about singing/English song/vocal anatomy and a motor training workbook.
She has a particular interest in teaching anatomy to singers and teachers of singing and in creating new ways of motor learning to train singers more effectively. She has invented and rigorously tested motor training tools and protocols for swift and effective vocal training
As well as a busy private studio, she is currently a Lecturer in Singing and Song Interpretation at Pembroke College, Oxford and teaches in Oxford and London. She has an exciting and varied cohort of students, teachers and industry professionals and as a highly specialised technical coach, she works with each individual to reveal a unique authentic and embodied singing voice. Nicola also offers vocal rehabilitation and voice coaching for damaged voices and issues related to the vocal tract that affect singing.
