Nicola Harrison is a professional singing teacher, voice coach and singer herself. Based in Oxford she offers vocal training and singing lessons. A lecturer, tutor and professional singer she tutors singing at all levels. Nicola is Lecturer in Singing and Performance at Pembroke College, Oxford and a highly respected vocal coach. She has trained both as a singer and as a professional singing coach with top pedagogues in the UK, Switzerland, France and Spain. A member of many organisations related to voice, literature, language and culture, she is at the forefront of new developments in vocal teaching across the board and is a highly qualified Adult Educator. She also specialises in vocal rehabilitation and provides singing lessons, and vocal training to a wide range of individuals.
As a singing teacher Nicola gives singing lessons privately, coaching both individuals and groups. She tutors singing at all levels, including committed young singers, undergraduate, postgraduate and professional performers. Her students receive top professional vocal technique and performance coaching and many make their way to the top of their chosen profession.
Previous students have gained entrance to top music colleges and conservatoires, won international awards, scholarships and Olivier awards. Many have had contracts in television and film as well as careers in solo singing and choral directing.
A performer and author, she is passionate about the interpretation of poetry in song and is the author of The Wordsmith's Guide to English Song: Poetry, Music and Imagination which is out now. Her show, The House of Love, is also on tour in 2016.
